Job Purpose

The Performance Management Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that the employees are meeting performance standards and objectives in line with the company strategic goals.

Manages and coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure that performance management and performance improvement programs are developed and managed using a data-driven approach. 

This person will collaborate with various departments to establish performance metrics, monitor employee performance, and provide support and guidance to managers and employees to improve overall performance through L&D programs.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Implements Performance Management Systems including performance appraisal forms, evaluation criteria, and performance improvement plans in liaison with the GHRM and HODs.

  • Establishes Performance Metrics and works with department heads and Supervisors to establish clear, measurable performance metrics, objectives, and KPIs aligned with the company goals.

  • Regularly monitors employee performance against established performance indicators and objectives. In coordination with GHRM, identifies areas of improvement and provides feedback and support to Managers and employees.

  • Establishes training programs and provides support to Managers and employees on performance management processes, including setting objectives, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues. Conduct training needs assessments and coordinate training sessions to address skill gaps.

  • Coordinates with Managers the performance reviews at regular intervals, ensuring that feedback is constructive, fair, and aligned with organizational objectives.

  • In coordination with Managers and GHRM, develops and implements performance improvement plans (PIPs) as needed. Addresses performance issues and concerns promptly and effectively.

  • In liaison with Managers and GHRM contributes to the design, implementation, and management of effective employee development, and talent management initiatives to address performance gaps.

  • Maintains Records of employee performance evaluations, feedback, and performance improvement plans.

  • Stays updated and informed about best practices in performance management and recommends improvements or changes to existing processes as necessary.

  • Facilitates mentorship programs to foster professional growth and development.

  • Oversees the performance appraisal process, and guides managers and employees.

  • Implements succession planning initiatives to identify and groom high-potential employees.

  • Works with leadership to create career development paths for key positions within the organization.

  • Ensures a smooth transition during key personnel changes.

  • Drives initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.

  • Supports the HRD to implement strategies that promote a positive and inclusive organizational culture.

  • Utilizes HR analytics tools to track and analyze talent metrics.

  • Prepares regular reports on talent management key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Ensures compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.

  • Suggests revision of talent management policies as needed.

Competencies 

Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

3 to 5 years of previous experience in Performance or Talent Management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Strong understanding of HR principles and best practices.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Strong understanding of performance management principles and practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Sound knowledge of learning modalities with the ability to develop learning materials and evaluate training results.

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Certification in performance management (optional but beneficial).
