Job Purpose 

The role is strategic and tactical and requires a balance of creative vision and pragmatic decision-making to successfully bring products to life that resonate with consumers and boost Difco’s competitive edge. This position blends market insights with innovative thinking to guide cross-functional teams through the journey from conceptualization to new brand launch within the time-to-market expectations. Simply put, BDM spearheads the creation and refinement of new products within a company and leads the new product’s route to market from conception starting with research, to design, to R&D, until readiness to launch.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop new brand strategies that align with company goals and customer needs

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle and collaborate with design and R&D to create product concepts and prototypes

  • Conduct market research to identify market needs and competitive intelligence through market visits and the Nielsen platform.

  • Present new ideas/opportunities to marketing & R&D

  • Oversee the design, prototyping, and testing phases to ensure product specifications are met

  • Conduct tasting sessions for new products via tasting committees and derive scientific outcomes

  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies and product positioning

  • Brief agencies for new launch campaigns and follow up on deliverables to meet the deadline

  • Monitor marketing expenses and ensure cost-effective implementations

  • Monitor product performance post-launch and incorporate feedback into future developments

  • Manage stakeholder communication and provide regular updates on product progress and milestones

Competencies 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

Experience

  • Proven experience in new brands/product development from conception to launch

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of marketing principles, market analysis, and promotional strategies.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions.

  • Familiarity with the retail and distribution landscape in the region.

  • Familiarity with The Nielsen research platform
