Job Purpose

The Sales Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to lead and supervise a team of sales representatives operating in traditional trade channels such as local markets, small shops, and independent retailers in a specified area. He is responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding market coverage, and ensuring effective distribution of products within his assigned territory.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Leads, motivates, and supervises a team of sales representatives operating in traditional trade channels in an assigned territory. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the team achieves sales targets and objectives effectively.

  • Sales Planning and Execution: Implements sales strategies and action plans to achieve sales targets for traditional trade channels. Coordinate with the sales team to ensure effective execution of sales plans and initiatives.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Builds and maintains strong relationships with key customers in traditional trade channels, including local markets, small shops, and independent retailers. Identifies customer needs, addresses inquiries, and resolves issues to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Market Coverage Expansion: Identifies opportunities to expand market coverage and penetration within traditional trade channels. Implements plans to reach new customers, open new accounts, and increase product distribution in the assigned territory.

  • Merchandising and Visibility: Ensure optimal product visibility and merchandising in traditional trade outlets. Work closely with store owners to implement merchandising standards, promotional activities, and product displays to drive sales and enhance brand visibility.

  • Monitors competitor activities, identifies opportunities and challenges, and prepares regular reports and insights for management.

  • Provides ongoing support to the sales team to enhance their product knowledge, selling skills, and customer service capabilities.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to product quality, safety, and legality.

Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

Experience

  •  Proven 3+ years of experience in FMCG sales Proven experience with a track record of achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of FMCG industry trends, market dynamics, and distribution channels.

  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving sales performance and delivering results.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
