Job Purpose

Assist in the development, configuration and optimization of industrial processes to meet the company’s requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with R&D, Quality, Production, Warehouse and Maintenance departments
  • Ensure the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs
  • Make observations and take measurements directly, as well as collect and interpret data from the other technical and operating staff involved
  • Understand reactions taking place
  • Monitor/supervise the work of employees in direct contact with the process and assist with on–the–floor training
  • Do the calculations of the process (capacity, efficiency, waste) and analyze it
  • Write the process status report
  • Attend management meetings:
  • Lead line-trials and coordinate with related parties
  • Train related parties on new processes/lines
  • Prepare and attend lines commissioning and coordinate with related parties
  • Prepare studies and reviews upon request to support project phases. Analyze data and conduct on-the-job observations to capture input and to confirm assumptions
  • Support projects linked to the implementation of new equipment, technologies, systems to take on additional challenges of growth in coordination between R&D / Engineering / Plant
  • Support the development and delivery of technical training required in the implementation phase of projects
  • Develop and/or present project deliverables such as presentations, proposals, documentation, progress reports etc...
  • Perform process mapping and procedures description (by developing work instructions) based on defined standards which will be applicable across the group projects
  • Recommend and implement improvements, modifications or additions which will document work, tests and solve problems
  • Review product requirements and report gaps and non-conformities with product development compatibility of processing methods to determine costs and schedules
  • Perform analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Master’s Degree in Food Process Engineering or in Food Science
  • Strong Knowledge in unit operations of food manufacturing
  • English language, French is a plus

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Working in this environment requires the use of masks, a hairnet, earplugs, safety shoes and a uniform.
