Job Purpose

Oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities, operations plan and team management, so that products are delivered on time and within budget  

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the good functioning of the production process in order to obtain a product that corresponds to the min/max specifications defined by the R&D in accordance with the production procedure
  • Monitor minimum stock of raw materials necessary for production plans in collaboration with Plant Operations Manager, Procurement Manager and Warehouse Manager 
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Ensure the timely collection of production and parameters
  • Ensure that quantities/type produced correspond to those ordered
  • Ensure that production plans are respected
  • Assist the R&D department in new products trials and creation 
  • Launch the Commissioning of the new lines following the guidance of the Plant Operations Manager
  • Lead and coach all production team and ensure they are well-motivated
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports and coordinate with the Plant Operations Manager 
  • Conduct employee performance review based on KPI’s (periodic and annual) and identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver appropriate training sessions
  • Elaborate and create the SOP’s in collaboration with the Quality Department 
  • Maintain ERP production module & implement needed routes
  • Use ERP system for analysis & reporting purpose 
  • Plan changeovers between different SKUs on different lines in order to meet production plan / sales orders 
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Manager on previous maintenance schedule & needed machines upgrades to avoid delays and to enhance productivity 
  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
  • Identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance, ensuring accuracy and documentation 
  • Facilitate production department staff meetings, generate actions plans impacting production department KPI’s
  • Measure, Track and Respect Key Production Metrics
  • Present departmental metrics and action plans in management staff meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Competencies

Education

  • B.S or B.E in Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering,  Food Technology, Agriculture or any related field
  • Six sigma and lean manufacturing certificate is a plus
  • Approved / certified auditor or lead auditor certification is a plus

Experience

  • 10 years in Food industry, out of which a minimum of 5 years spent in managerial level 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • English language, French is a plus

Physical Effort

Work requires physical frequent tours in the factory, standing for long hours, occasional night shift site visits and occasional travelling as per business needs
