Job Purpose

Responsible for the effective management of the Quality Control department that includes raw material, in-process & finished product Quality & Safety control functions. Support in the planning and implementation of the Quality and Safety management system (ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP....)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop standard procedures for product and raw material sampling, Storage and preservation, testing and analysis, traceability and product recall in case of non-conformities
  • Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against these standards and report any nonconforming deviation for corrective action
  • Ensure that quality control procedures and PRPs conform to QMS requirements (HACCP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000)
  • Develop technical specifications for all raw materials & packaging material used and finished products produced
  • Ensure optimum process control, laboratory functioning and resource planning (Lab equipment, reagents and other consumables, human resource allocation...)
  • Ensure that overall plant environment adheres to health and safety guidelines through the establishment and implementation of effective communication to raise awareness and knowledge
  • Set up the Quality control reporting system (Process control & lab) and ensures its daily implementation and sharing with all related parties
  • Coordinate quality-related issues with R&D and customer service & follow up on customer complaints and product non-conformities
  • Prepare a monthly quality summary report addressing quality performance, quality issues faced, and troubleshooting conducted
  • Prepare yearly department budget (capex and consumables)
  • Manage the team while fostering a well-trained and motivated team
  • Conduct employee performance review (periodic and annual) and identifies relevant training needs
  • Train the team on all required job tasks and quality topics and conduct awareness sessions to all the group
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Competencies

  • BS degree in Food Technology, Biochemistry &/or industrial engineering or any related field
  • 5-10 years in the food industry, out of which a minimum of 2 years spent in Quality Management position

Physical Effort

Work requires physical frequent tours in the factory, standing for long hours, occasional night shift site visits, occasional travelling as per business needs and working under high and low temperatures
