Job Purpose

The GFM is responsible for overseeing financial operations and leading the finance function within DIFCO Group. This person will be responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting, reporting, and risk management across the group, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving financial performance and sustainability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the achievement of business objectives and maximize shareholder value.

  • Oversee the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations to senior management to drive decision-making and performance improvement.

  • Manage the preparation and presentation of financial reports, statements, and analysis to stakeholders, including senior management, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and transparency of financial information.

  • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, analyzing trends, identifying risks and opportunities, and proactively addressing issues to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks.

  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads and business units to develop realistic and achievable financial targets and allocate resources effectively to support strategic initiatives.

  • Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and liquidity planning to ensure adequate funding for operations and strategic investments while minimizing financial risk.

  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and timely submission of financial reports and filings.

  • Lead financial due diligence processes for potential acquisitions, mergers, or strategic partnerships, assessing financial risks and opportunities and providing recommendations to senior management.

  • Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data and reporting.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning to develop and retain top talent.

  • Ensure that the implementation of the new ERP system aligns with the organization's strategic objectives, financial goals, and long-term vision.

  • Collaborate with other executives and stakeholders to define the scope, objectives, and expected outcomes of the ERP project, emphasizing financial benefits and RO.

  • Oversee the financial planning and budgeting process for the ERP project, working closely with the project team to estimate costs, allocate resources, and develop a realistic budget.

  • Ensure that the project budget is aligned with financial constraints and expectations, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.

Experience

  • Proven 8+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, with a track record of success in financial management, analysis, and reporting, preferably in a group or multinational environment.

  • Strong technical expertise in financial accounting principles, financial modeling, and valuation techniques, with proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.
