Job Purpose

The Regional Sales Manager’s primary responsibility is to lead and manage sales activities within a designated region. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share in alignment with company objectives. Additionally, he/she will oversee a team of sales representatives and Supervisors providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure sales targets are met.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implements strategic sales plans and initiatives to achieve sales targets and business objectives within the assigned region. Analyzes market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and develop targeted sales strategies.

  • Team Leadership and Management: Leads, motivates, and manages a team of sales representatives, including setting performance targets, providing coaching and support, and conducting regular performance evaluations. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence to drive sales performance and achieve business goals.

  • New Business Development: Identifies and pursues new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase market share within the region.

  • Sales Forecasting and Planning: Develops sales forecasts and targets for the regional sales team. Monitors sales performance, tracks progress against targets and analyzes variances to identify trends and adjust sales strategies as needed to achieve business objectives.

  • Sales Reporting and Analysis: Prepares accurate and timely sales reports, including sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance dashboards. Analyzes sales data, customer feedback, and market insights to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions to optimize sales performance.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborates closely with internal teams, including marketing, operations, finance, and Logistics, to align sales strategies with overall business objectives. Coordinates sales activities, shares market intelligence, and leverages resources to support sales initiatives and drive business success.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Builds and maintains strong relationships with customers within the region, including regular communication, visits, and engagement.

  • Understands customer needs, preferences, and challenges, and provides personalized solutions and support to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

Experience

  • Proven 8+ years of experience in sales management roles within the FMCG industry, with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with proficiency in sales forecasting, planning, and analysis.

  • Knowledge of FMCG market trends, consumer behavior, and distribution channels.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and CRM software.
